Anthony Malat is a musician turned menswear designer turned furniture maker/interior designer based in New York City. Anthony has shared the stage with the likes of Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Yeah Yeah Yeah’s and others at venues as iconic as CBGB’s, 9:30 Club and even Madison Square Garden in his career as Bassist / songwriter with several different bands over the last 3 decades.
As a clothing designer, he has made custom suits for a wide array of clients, including musicians Billy Corgan of Smashing Pumpkins, Perry Farrell of Jane’s Addiction and members of Interpol, Bon Iver, and Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds / Grinderman to name just a few. His custom menswear designs have been featured on the cover of the New York Times’ Style section, as well as Rolling Stone magazine, GQ, Spin, and countless others here in the US and abroad.
For almost two decades now, Anthony has been designing and making custom furniture. Anthony’s work has been documented in interior design magazines and has gained him commissions from clients of all walks of life including A-list actors, fashion photographers and other creative types. He has designed restaurants in and around the NYC area including Casa Publica in Williamsburg, Pitanga in Bushwick, Pitanga North in Gardiner, NY, as well as having a hand in designing restaurant projects such as: Superiority Burger in the East Village, Panzón, Hudson Table, Beco, and others in the north Brooklyn area
